Join us in a webinar and explore new trends in European MOOCs. Rosanna de Rosa, from UNINA, presented the philosophy and challenges behind the EMMA EU project and MOOC platform developed with the idea of accommodating diversity through multilingualism. Darco Jansen, from EADTU (European Association of Distance Teaching Universities), talked about Europe’s response to MOOC opportunities. His presentation highlighted the main difference with U.S. and discussed the consequences for didactical and pedagogical approaches regarding the different contexts.

Rosanna De Rosa

Rosanna De Rosa is assistant professor in Political Science at University of Naples “Federico II”.
Her publications focus on the impact of new technologies on politics, especially e-government, e-democracy, online knowledge, communication, and the emerging public sphere on Internet.
She is Executive Editor of Ipsaportal.net, an online official portal of the International Political Science Association.
She was Director of the project “Campus Virtuale” at the University of Naples Federico II, which led to the design and implementation of the internationally awarded Web Learning platform ‘Federica’.
She is currently Coordinator for the European Multiple MOOC Aggregator Project (EMMA)

Darco Jansen, EADTU, The Netherlands
Darco Jansen

He is programme manager at EADTU and responsible for development of different long term themes for EADTU(-members) on Online Education, MOOCs and OER, Employability and on Open and social Innovation (e.g. with (small) businesses).
Darco’s fields of expertise are e-learning, open innovation, educational business development, continuous education, non-/informal learning and workplace learning. He worked for over 20 years at the Open Universiteit of the Netherlands.
Currently Darco is the coordinator of the first pan European MOOC initiative OpenupEd and coordinator of several European MOOC projects (HOME, SCORE2020).
