Challenges and assets of MOOCs – EMMA at EADTU Conference

Rosanna De Rosa, the EMMA project coordinator, and Ruth Kerr from UNINA, were at the EADTU conference on Thursday and Friday 23rd and 24th October to present EMMA in a joint discussion session on MOOCs chaired by Darco Jansen, Programme Manager at EADTU. The focus of the debate was on the challenges and assets that MOOCs represent, including issues of inclusion, quality and assessment. Particular topics that the audience were keen to discuss with her were the effectiveness of the EMMA inbuilt translation systems, the possibility of universities in Eastern Europe playing a greater role, and the desirability of working towards a pan-European university credit exchange system for online learning.
