On May 15, 2014 Wilfred Rubens from EMMA-partner Open University in the Netherlands provided presentation at the annual conference of the European Association for Distance Learning in Edinburgh, (United Kingdom).
He introduced the EMMA-project and used the classification schema for MOOCs developed bij EMMA-partner GrĂ¡inne Conole from the University of Leicester to discuss the pedagogical diversity of MOOCs.
Based on a calculation of his own experiences with MOOCs he concluded that there are serious doubts related to the business model of MOOCs. However, according to Wilfred MOOCs have other benefits.
