EMMA project has been presented in the session “Beyond MOOCs: The Future of Learning on the Future Internet” during the Future Internet Assembly held in Athens from 18-20, March. The conference counted with the presence of more than 400 European Internet scientific and economic actors, researchers, industrialists, SMEs, users, service and content provider representatives, who delivered new ideas, and shared views, aiming at advancing activities for reshaping the Future Internet.
In particular the Beyond MOOCs session focused on analyzing the challenges arising from the current deployment of MOOCs in different learning scenarios and how they will shape the future of learning supported by Future Internet. ATOS presentation addressed the challenges of deploying MOOCs in Corporate settings and how some of the EMMA features can help to overcome difficulties related to cultural differences, personalization issues; monitoring progress and results verification concerning learning goals. It also provided an overview of why MOOCs combined with micro-learning practices and seamless learning environments represent the next emerging learning paradigms and frameworks and how Future Internet activities can facilitate their future implementation.
